Research & development
The ongoing commitment to the development of new projects represents the will of INTERMARP to offer high-performance products, ever increasingly more attuned to the needs of the market and customers.
The company's Research & Development division closely collaborates with customers in the definition of product features, beginning from the most suitable compound for the required applications to the definition of optimal solutions for the realisation of the end product, whether they are gaskets, membranes, couplings or technical articles in general.
Il Laboratory
In support of product development and ongoing quality control, INTERMARP makes use of an in-house laboratory to test both the compounds and end product, equipped with the following instrumentation:
| MDR and ODR rheometers | ISO 6502 - ISO 3417 |
| Viscosity meter | ISO 289 - DIN 53523 |
| Density meter | ISO 1183 - DIN 53479 |
| IRHD microdurometer | ISO 48 |
| ShA durometers | ISO 7619-1 DIN 53505 |
| Tensiometer for: | |
| a) tensile strength and elongation at break | ISO 37 |
| b) tear resistance | ISO 34/1 |
| Ovens and climatic chambers for testing of: | |
| a) ageing in air | ISO 188 |
| b) ageing in fluid | ISO 1817 |
| Kiln for ash testing | |
| Kit for testing discoloration in water (HAZEN degrees) | |
| Thermogravimetric analysis instrumentation (TGA) | |
| Two-dimensional optic system | |
| Gauges and micrometers | |
A further support is the presence of a laboratory Banbury 1.3 lt with open mill to meet any need for sampling of compounds.
Mould design is yet another important activity carried on by INTERMARP, for the realisation of which use is made of the experience of outside companies with which it has longstanding collaboration.
